GABS Festival

Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular is excited to have launched the inaugural GABS Cares initiative. Started in 2021, GABS Cares has been created by the GABS Craft Beer Festival team to support and give back to various beer industry initiatives and good community charitable causes within Australia and New Zealand.

“Caring for the community is a foundational aspect of the brewing Industry and giving back through GABS Cares is just a small way for us to contribute.” said Mike Bray, GABS MD. “GABS Cares is a natural extension of GABS, we passionately care about all craft breweries, craft consumers and those that are affiliated to our industry. We’re glad our common love for craft beer can help us provide some care for others in the broader community.”

GABS Cares have teamed up with some incredible breweries to give away beer packs during lockdown and share a bit of joy to family & friends. Keep an eye out for our upcoming campaigns.

Supporting New, Emerging and Contract Brewers

GABS Cares Lockdown Beers

We’re glad our common love for craft beer can help us provide some care for others in the broader community at times like these.

We did it for our mates in Victoria’s long lockdown last year. This year, we gifted the last six GABS Festival Beer 2021 LIMITED EDITION 6 Packs to your craft beer loving mates doing it tough after 9 weeks in lockdown, in NSW.

In a true show of how beer brings us together, over 1,200 craft lovers were nominated by mates around the country! Congratulations to A. Neal, C. Purdon, S. Braid, A. Berman, R. Ashton and D. Pigott, we hope this gift from your mate makes things just a little bit easier!

Please keep connecting with your friends in lockdown. Set up Friday beers through zoom or facetime calls. Order some craft beers from a local brewery in lockdown and support each other and the industry through these challenging times.

Inaugural Fundraiser Raises $10,000 for ANZUP and Pink Boots Society

GABS Cares launched a “Stack of Beer” campaign at the GABS 2021 Festivals where a whopping $10,000 was raised. This was shared by two nominated beneficiaries with The Pink Boots Society and ANZUP- Below the Belt campaign both receiving $5000 each.

“Caring for the community is a foundational aspect of the brewing Industry and giving back through GABS Cares is just a small way for us to contribute.”

“After missing a year of connecting with the industry and beer lovers, we were so excited to be back at GABS and tasting spectacular new beers. “ said Tiffany Waldron, President of Pink Boots Society Australia. “We can’t thank GABS, and of course those who supported this initiative by purchasing tickets, enough – proceeds from this fundraiser will be going straight towards scholarships for Pink Boots Society Australia members, supporting women+ in the fermented beverages industry through education”.
“ We were delighted to be involved in this year’s ‘spectapular’ events and have ANZUP’s below the belt ambassador and comedian Michael Shafar entertain the thousands of craft beer and good time lovers” said Lucy Byers, Marketing and Communications Manager at ANZUP. “Every dollar that was raised through the GABS CARES initiative for ANZUP and below the belt (prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular and penile) cancers will go directly to clinical trials research to improve treatments and outcomes for patients.”
