DISCOVER SIX WAYS TO GET CRAFTY
EXCLUSIVE TO MY DAN MURPHY’S MEMBERS!
With hundreds of fantastic beers on offer at GABS, it can be hard to know where to begin. For the perfect introduction to your GABS experience, head to the My Dan Murphy’s Discovery Deck, where you can take part in an in-depth guided tasting session to find your favourite beer styles. You'll also get the chance to play games including beer pong, and go into the running to win some great prizes.
Here’s how it works…
Make your way to the My Dan Murphy’s Discovery Deck (hint: it’s the big stage on top of one of the Husky Container Bars) around the start of each hour (eg. 2pm, 3pm etc).
Pop your name down for the next Discovery Deck session (they start about 15 minutes past the hour), hang out in the VIP Area, play some Beer Pong and maybe win a Giant Pretzel while you wait!
Head up to the Discovery Deck, take in the view from three metres above the crowd (#wow), and get ready for the Dan Murphy's Beer Experts to take you on a FREE tasting experience of some of the best examples of all of the major beer styles.
You’ll be given a Discovery Booklet on entry, so you can work your way around six different tasting stations throughout the 40 minute session: Crisp (highlighting light, clean and approachable styles); Fruit (from tropical to citrus and berries, these flavours and more can all be found in fruit beers); Hop (let’s talk about the scale of Pale Ale); Tart & Funky (those left of centre beers; rustic and earthy in nature); Malt (sweet, rich and decadent, think caramel and toffee); Roast (think darker beers paired with chocolate).
Ask questions, take notes, mark the beers and styles you like, and the Dan Murphy’s team can help direct you to other brewers you should check out while at GABS. Time to go forth and conquer!
